Safe YOU Armenia

In 2021, Safe YOU partnered with Carbon Group Global to explore Safe YOU’s potential implementation in the US led by post-graduate students from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management.

According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network), the nation’s largest anti-

sexual violence organization, women ages 18-24 are at an elevated risk of sexual violence in the US.

Many of these women experience violence while in college.

Sexual violence on campus is pervasive. According to RAINN, citing WHO and other studies:

  • 13% of all students experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation (among all graduate and undergraduate students)
  • Among graduate and professional students, 9.7% of females and 2.5% of males experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation
  • Among undergraduate students, 26.4% of females and 6.8% of males experience rape or sexual assault through physical force, violence, or incapacitation
  • 5.8% of students have experienced stalking since entering college

With this context, Carbon Group was interested in partnering with CCE on a project to help

Safe YOU answer the following questions for the US market, within an initial focus on

college campuses.

The project aimed to research some high-potential use cases where Safe YOU can be implemented immediately and be most effective.

Research through this project showed that Safe YOU would have the most impact implemented through sororities on campuses across the US. Safe YOU is working on making this a reality, and plans to launch in the US in 2024.
